Press Invitation

The Swedish Academy will announce the Nobel Prize Laureate in Literature for the year 2021 on Thursday 7 October at 1 p.m. (13.00).

The announcement, made by Permanent Secretary Mats Malm, will begin the press briefing. The chair of the Nobel Committee, Academy member Anders Olsson, will then present the Nobel Laureate and his/her authorship.

There will be no separate interviews at the press meeting but there will be an opportunity for questions to Mr. Olsson in Swedish and English. Questions can also be sent by e-mail to: pressinfo@svenskaakademien.se. The briefing will end at approximately 1.30 p.m. (13.30).

The announcement and the press briefing will take place at the Swedish Academy premises at the Old Stockholm Stock Exchange Building (Börshuset).

Registration

Media representatives wishing to attend are asked to submit a request to nobel@svenskaakademien.se by Monday 4 October at 8 a.m. (08.00) at the latest.

Please note that attendance is limited strictly to accredited media, and there will only be space for a limited number. Entrance: Källargränd 4. The doors will be open from 11 a.m. (11.00). Please bring valid press accreditation.

Due to the pandemic this press meeting is held in accordance with recommendations from the authorities. There is a mandatory requirement that you should be vaccinated against Covid-19 and have no symptom of illness.
